Those lucky players who have signed up to preview the Xbox 360's new dashboard update - the much vaunted New Xbox Experience - in recent weeks, will be pleased to find today that they have access to the wide-reaching update a day earlier than everyone else.

"Instead of adding another 10,000 people to the preview program like we did last week, we've decided to do something a little different: everyone who successfully applied to the preview program (and submitted a valid console ID) will be getting the New Xbox Experience sometime within the next few hours," beamed Larry 'Major Nelson' Hyrb speaking earlier this morning.

"If you signed up and are not prompted, that means you did not enter your console ID properly and you'll have to wait until Wednesday."

Live has already had a few technical bumps to overcome ahead of this launch, and there is a risk the whole system will come crashing down under the weight of 14 million users downloading the new update. Just a few hours to go now, anyway.

    the new look, looks very childish compared to the elegant blades.. why copy the wii?

    ill be one to re-enable the blade theme
