Word in this morning from Engadget draws to our attention the existence of a '3G' games console, which is being prepped for release in Brazil.

Called the Zeebo the new system is designed and built by Tectoy, who will partner with Brazilian mobile network Claro, giving the console a constant, 3G connection to the outside world.

The OS used will be based on BREW, and there will be an ARM CPU running 528MHz, alongside a Qualcomm developed graphics unit. 1GB NAND flash memory, 160MB RAM, 128MB DDR SDRAM and 32MB stacked DDR SDRAM are mooted.

A download-focussed business model promises to combat piracy, titles sold for 3 to 13 USD. The console itself will cost about 260 USD. More soon.
